Pastor’s Note

Timothy L. Mason

Philippians 2:16

Welcome to our church website. I am the pastor of Shining Light Baptist Church in Blairsville, GA.

The Lord allowed me and my wife to be reared in a Christian home. Both my wife and I were saved by the grace of God during our teen years. We met each other at Ambassador Baptist College in Lattimore, NC. We were married in August of 1999 and are grateful that the Lord has blessed our home with five young men: Andrew, Aaron, Avery, Adin, and Adrian.

During my college days at Ambassador, there was a definite call from the Lord into full time ministry. I graduated in May of 1996 with a BBS in Bible and Pastoral Studies, while minoring in Christian Education.

After college, I served as youth pastor at my home church, Immanuel Baptist, in Clifton Forge, VA. From there the Lord called me to work with the youth at Great Hope Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA.(my sending church). I spent three years at Great Hope before the Lord called me to pastor Bethel Baptist Church in Great Barrington, MA. We spent three wonderful years in Massachusetts and the Lord called us to Union County, GA where we planted Shining Light Baptist Church. We are an old-fashioned Bible preaching church where families come first, the fellowship is sweet, and yet we desire to be balanced and practical in our ministry approach.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Kevin and Kristie were saved at a young age and grew up in loving, Christian homes. They continued their education at Ambassador Baptist College with Kristie studying Elementary Education and Kevin majoring in the Bible. They were married after their graduation in 2018 and together joined the staff at Shining Light.

They are able to serve the church in various ministries which include the song service, Patch Club, preaching and teaching, cleaning the church building, and assisting the Pastor in any way needed. They are excited to be serving in this local church and to be a blessing to the people around them.
